ReadLet is a project studying reading development in children, aiming to evaluate children’s reading skills, how they change in development and what plays a role in the process. Within the project, a tablet-based ICT-driven application uses state-of-the-art technology to obtain information on children’s reading behaviour through powerful computational tools that allow us to combine large amounts of data from different sources. It was born within the ComPhys Lab, from the collaboration between the Institute for Computational Linguistics (ILC) and the Institute for Clinical Physiology (IFC) at CNR, Pisa. ReadLet is also supported by the ItaliaNLP Lab (co-located at ILC), the Language, Learning and Reading Lab (IRLAC) at Sissa in Trieste, the Speech and Multimodal Communication Lab (ISTC), at the Padova unit of the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies, and the Scuola Universitaria Professionale della Svizzera Italiana (SUPSI).
ReadLet is a PRIN 3-year project (2017W8HFRX), funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, and based on a partnership between the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) and the Scuola Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) in Trieste. The funding started in January, 2020.
